Fragment of the foot of a terra sigillata dish (0.053).

The graffito is scratched across the centre of the bottom surface. The cross-bar of the A is between the diagonals at the bottom rather than across the middle of the letter.

c.0.01 (irregular in height). It probably originates from Rome. Possibly first or second century AD It was given to the Ashmolean Museum by J.H. Parker (as noted in ink on the object), Keeper of Antiquities in the Ashmolean Museum (1870-84), and probably originates from Rome, since Parker donated many objects (principally brickstamps) from Rome and its environs, which he collected in 1870/71. photograph photograph
